  1. I purchased the all clad stainless steel 12″ fry pan instead of the non-stick frypan because I wanted to cook at higher heat. But this frypan doesn’t work very well at higher heat-starts to singe on inside of pan. I was also disappointed with the limitations on washing-can’t use any soft scrub that contains bleach and can’t use steel wool.

I agree with the One Star review by Mikech. When meat or vegetable is added, the frying pan cools down to much and stops the oil from sizzling. When the oil is not sizzling, the food soaks up the oil. If you want a real frying pan, get something else. I really wanted to like this pan as its got a nice finish and the price “was” right (cheaper). I had this for a month now and I am disappointed. I called All Clad and the lady said all their stainless pan are the same thickness (thinness!?). I have other stainless and non-stick frying pans that do not cool way down when food is added. I gave it 2 stars because of the nice finish on the pan, but if I want pretty I will go date a model, not try to cook a dish in the kitchen. Now you and All Clad have my feedback :(

This is advertised on Amazon as three ply. It is not! I got out my calipers and checked the thickness. It is basically stamped out of a sheet of stainless steel. Maybe the other reviewers knew that when they purchased it. I on the other hand did not and bought it based on the description. Any time a price is too good to be true it is. This is a case in point. This pan isn’t worth $25.00.

If you doubt this, read all the good reviews. They all say it is “lighter” and many talk about how quickly it heats. One reviewer says they burned the food. Here is why: THERE IS ONLY A VERY THIN PIECE OF METAL BETWEEN THE FLAME AND THE FOOD!! NOT three ply. So I think that All Clad put out this cheap sheet metal pan at a low price to capitalize on the “Cooks” review. I doubt this is the pan they tested.

I like the price. Clean up is easier than I expected. I was pleasantly surprised at the weight. I thought it would be heavier and I cannot lift heavy cast iron skillets anymore.
